How Debt Avalanche Works

We have always had debt and it seemed like we would never get out from under it. We pay more than out minimum payments due, but the debt didn't seem to get any smaller. A friend told us about Debt Avalanche and how it cut years off the time it would take to take to pay off their debt and save them all kinds of interest. We tried it and were blown away! We have $260,000 in interest and cut 34 years it would take to pay it off.

My student loans seemed like they were never going to be payed off, it was going to take me 14 years and cost me $23,656.40 in interest alone. With this program it will only take 5 years to pay them off and save me $15,198.75 in interest.

I had $8,074.99 of debt. I had no idea how long it was going to take to pay it off, the I found Debt Avalanche. It not only told me how long it would take me to pay it off, but showed me how much interest I would pay in the process. $2,129.21 and 4 years to pay it off. Then it told me I could pay off all my debt in 1.5 years and save me $1,135.99 in interest without spending any more than I'm already paying now. This website is Awesome!

We don’t believe that getting out of debt should be hard. You shouldn’t have to give up everything you enjoy in life. You also shouldn’t have to consult a crystal ball or some mystical oracle to try to figure out how to get it done.

You should be able to simply enter in the numbers from the statements on your debt and be able to get a print out of the easiest, most efficient way to get out of debt. Not only that, but you should also be able to see how much money and time you will save if you maximize how you get out of debt. There should also be an easy way to figure out where to put the money when you get a few extra dollars and want to put some of it toward our debt.

But it shouldn’t just be about a payment plan, it should be about other things as well.

  1. How to negotiate your interest rates
  2. How to improve your credit to make borrowing money cheaper
  3. How to budget your money so debt doesn’t continue to pile up
